paintings
When I studied painting at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the early eighties, new expressionist painting in Germany was all the rage. I loved the spontaneity but looked to other artists such as David Hockney and Frank Stella for more sumptuous colours, quirky shapes and a compatible sense of humour. My colours are chosen according to the dynamics of the shape, the theme and the tastes they remind me of: bitter sweets and acid fruit.
