On Alice’s journeys through Wonderland and across a chessboard she often enters a wood or meets a character emerging from the trees. I made some pencil drawings with the idea of making a three-dimensional model for her, but got no further than integrating them into my drawings. They provide a curious sense of depth in line with my interest in relief works in other media eg. wood.
